African Perspectives
Fallou, by Alassane Sy (Senegal – 2017)
The films in the African Perspectives programmes, with an abundance of touching stories and unforgettable characters, explores the wealth of African cinema by offering a selection of short films created by filmmakers from all over the continent.
Reflection of a continent full of contrasts and marked by deep scars, these stories, which focus on the continent’s youth, also come bearing tremendous hope.
After the screening of the two African Perspectives programmes, the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival invites you to meet this generation of talented filmmakers who have set the tone for this new Africa.
Saturday, 3 February 2018 at 6 p.m. in the Louis-Lumière Theater
The films gathered in these two programs represent the promise of a beautiful future for African cinema, and as we are reminded by Claire Diao, journalist specialized in African cinema and co-founder of the magazine Awotele, the international brilliance of African cinema no longer needs to be proven.
It will be a wonderful opportunity to get to know the authors of these films and to question them in the same way they question us through their works.
This encounter will be accompanied by a friendly drink where it will also be possible to meet directors from the international competition.
