Bresilian filmmaker Kleber Mendonça Filho joins the Lab Jury 2016

Kleber Mendonça Filho was born in Recife, northeastern Brazil. He has worked extensively as a film critic and also as a programmer.
In the 90s, he made documentaries, experimental films and fiction as a videomaker. His short films permit him to win over 100 awards in Brazil and abroad. Eletrodoméstica was selected in the International Competition of the 2006’s Clermont Film Festival.
His first feature, the documentary Crítico (2008), focused on the troubled relationship between filmmakers and critics through a personal series of interviews recorded over a period of eight years.

His feature film O Som ao Redor (Neighbouring Sounds) was selected in over 100 festivals, won 32 awards, and made the New York Times top 10 films of the year.

Kleber is also artistic director of Janela Internacional de Cinema do Recife, one of Brazil’s top film festivals.
