“Party Girl”, a first film to open Un Certain regard
Party girl is the first film directed by Marie Amachoukeli (scriptwriter of La traversée and La femme à cordes, selected in the 2007 and 2011 national competition, and Forbach, 2009 National Grand Prize National 2009, and director of C’est gratuit pour les filles, special mention of the national jury in 2010) – Claire Burger (film maker of Forbach and C’est gratuit pour les filles) – Samuel Theis (actor in Forbach).
Party Girl shows the life of Angélique, a 60 year-old night club hostess who still loves men and enjoys partying, but now as the senior member on staff, feels she has reached the end of the line. On an impulse, she agrees to marry her regular client, Michel.
PARTY GIRL will be screened as the opening of Un Certain Regard, Thursday 15th May 2014.
