Producer’s Carte Blanche : Takami Productions
Takami Productions is celebrating thirteen years. Thirteen years discovering, exploring, meeting, helping to bring to light filmmakers and their films, different worlds and new sensibilities.
We are very pleased to have the opportunity this year at Clermont-Ferrand to offer a little of what makes us who we are: films that we’ve produced and that reflect our evolution, and films that have touched us, inspired us and nourrished us. Films that look at the world, at the mute, brutal, even banal violence that we all confront on a daily basis. And films with softer, more optimistic glances that help us to laugh with and at everything.
What interests us more than anything are encounters – encounters with people, world views, shifts in humor… fragments of humanity that resonate with what we are. Different, changing, contrasting and complementary. Takami Productions was born from our confluence, and when we look back at the puzzle of films we’ve produced, we are confident about one key thing: the pieces come together and reflect who we are.
It was very difficult to choose only a few of the films that we’ve produced and that we appreciate, so we are eager to thank the filmmakers who have trusted us. We’d like to thank those who have made the journey with us, the film crews that have accompanied us, the partners who’ve supported us, our colleagues and fellow producers, and all of the faithful staff at Takami who are there every day, in the office, on sets, in labs, taking part in the constant battle that we are winning thanks to the confluence of energy and vibrant desire to make these films happen, sometimes against all obstacles.
And judging by what we hear from the young artists who come to us carrying the voice of a new generation, with new forms and new risks, we can confidently say that our thirst to make short films will not be soon be quenched.
We would like to thank Procirep and the Festival for the opportunity to present our Carte Blanche programmes. We hope you will have as good a time watching it as we had putting it together.
