The film director Eileen Hofer joins the Lab Jury 2016

Eileen Hofer was born in 1976 in Zurich. After being a managing editor for two years at a Swiss magazine, she get involved in film production as a self-taught director.

In 2008, she realized her first short film, Roots which was screened in 70 festivals (Locarno, Palm Springs) and was selected in the international competition in Clermont-Ferrand. He won 10 awards. In 2009, Le deuil de la cigogne joyeuse was screened in 40 festivals and won Best Swiss Short Film of 2010.
Roots
Her first feature-length film, He Was a Giant With Brown Eyes was written, directed and produced in 9 months. The world premiere took place at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in January 2012.
Her second feature-length film, Horizontes, which was shot in Cuba, was shown in 2015 in official competition at the Karlovy Vary and Visions du Réel film festivals, where it received a special mention. It is currently being shown in festivals alongside Nuestro Mar, a short film that was also shot in Cuba.
