Tribute to Christophe Agou

Our turn to be confronted with silence. Christophe Agou passed away on 16th September in New York.
A self-taught photographer, native of the Forez, Christophe Agou agreed to be part of our lab jury in 2012 and although his illness prevented him from travelling to Clermont, his work, photographs of men and women farmers he had taken over a period of eight years since the winter of 2002, was exhibited in the Marq.
Nevertheless Christophe Agou was determined to honor his agreement and deliberated by telephone with his colleagues Alla Kovgan and Stuart Staples. Hanging by a thread but the thread broke. To accompany his biography in our catalogue, we have included a photo that Christophe Agou had sent us: a hand holding a photo of himself, one finger placed on a part of his face like a question mark about his possible demise.
One more ghost in the dark room.
