Caïmans Productions: Producer’s Carte blanche
Caïmans Productions was created in 2002 by Daniel Sauvage and Jérôme Barthélemy. Brought together by a love for cinema on the benches of the film school, we have since produced over 30 short films, a feature-length film, as well as documentaries and programs for television.
Receiving the 2018 Prix Procirep was a big moment for Caïmans, and was immediately followed by a Cesar for Best Animated Short Film for Pépé Le Morse by Lucrèce Andreae. This recognition encouraged us to continue producing films that reflect ourselves, in a complicated yet exciting context.
To celebrate the honor of being invited to the festival in Clermont-Ferrand, we gave ourselves carte blanche and assembled a very diverse collection of films, but with all of which we have a very strong bond. In each of the two programmes, three ingredients: films that we produced ourselves and have yet to be screened in Clermont, films we loved that were made by other producer friends, and older short films, including some landmark productions in the history of cinema.
These two programmes are a reflection of us, an alloy of past and present, of favorites and of a love for cinema. We hope that you will enjoy discovering, or rediscovering, these films. Lastly, we would like to extend a big thanks to all the directors out there who have placed their trust in us over the years.
Long live Cinema!
