Intershorts #3: Pierre Mazingarbe, director of « Ce qui me fait prendre le train » (F4)
Translation :
First year you attended the festival :
First time with a film selected in the National competition, fifth time I’m coming.
Do have an anecdote about your film ?
The chicken scene was like a circus to shoot where ten actors and five chickens are tossed into the ring together and you have to show the consequent fight.
What do (did) you expect from the festival ?
Meeting with the audience.
What makes Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival « different » ?
Eclectism and family atmosphere.
How did you feel/react when you first saw your film screened at Clermont-Ferrand ? How did the audience react ?
I passed out and was evacuated. I want to thank the Auvergne safeguards hereby.
Tell us one something you remember from this year’s festival or from a previous year’s edition.
Wonderful appearance of Céline Salette in La femme de Rio, Bernard Menez’s face in Le Quellec’s short film.
Where do you see the short film format in 2064 (in 50 years) ?
At last, freed from naturalism, and more than ever, “every man for himself !”
