Support to the Ukrainian people
The organizers of the Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival firmly condemn the attacks on democracy in Ukraine and wish to express their unrestrained support to the Ukrainian people in the face of the current military aggression. Like the rest of the world, we are shocked to see war back in Europe. Ukraine deserves profound respect for its bravery and determination. We are of course concerned for our friends from the cultural world, the film community, and more specifically our Ukrainian colleagues on the short film scene (Kyiv International Short Film Festival, Wiz-Art, Odessa International Film Festival).
Our thoughts are also with the citizens and creatives in Russia who are taking risks and expressing their position for peace, against this senseless war initiated by their leaders. We’d like to share an initiative by artists, animators, filmmakers and musicians from Russia who are raising their voice and using their art to stop military action and demand peace:
Short films have always been a space for freedom, diversity, and bearing witness to the times we live in. As cultural activists we stand with the men, women, and all those fighting for freedom.
