Born in Paris in 1948, Christian Rouaud began his career as a literature professor, then was in charge of audiovisual training at the Académie de Créteil. During this period, he directed films for the school system and participated in several social and cultural projects, including a closed-circuit television system at the Fresnes prison and the creation of the Audiovisual for All in Education (APTE) association, over which he presided for five years. Author of the novel La saldéprof, he has been an independent filmmaker since 1992.

Known for his long documentary feature Tous au Larzac (Leadersheep), he won many prices in several festival, and especially the Cesar for the best documentary feature in 2011. But we discovered him here in Clermont-Ferrand during the festival 1997, in which he won the Price for the best first film for L’étranger.
