Actor
Born in Paris in 1965, Laurent Lucas grew up in Le Havre. He left high school at 16 to enlist in the army. During his military service, he devoured the classics of literature, and in 1989, he enrolled at the École Charles Dullin in Paris. In 1993, he entered the French National Theater of Strasbourg (TNS) under the direction of Jean-Marie Villégier. He acted in many plays by directors like Joël Jouanneau, Jean-Louis Martinelli and Julie Brochen.
After the theater, Laurent Lucas began acting in films in 1997 and received a César nomination for Best First Performance in 2000 for Haut les cœurs! by Solveig Anspach. Wide audiences got to know him for his role in Harry, un ami qui vous veut du bien (shot in the Cantal region of France). Based in Montreal now, he acts in Canadian films, too, and works in many genres, from comedy to drama, arthouse to big budgets.
In 2014, he played Kaz Gorbier, a psychopath, in the TV series Les témoins on France 2, opposite Thierry Lhermitte and Marie Dompnier. The following year, he was on the cast of the second season of the CANAL+ series Les revenants.
