Nightcap with Sefid poosh [White Clad]
Interview with Reza Fahimi, director of Sefid poosh [White Clad]
Where did the idea of Sefid poosh come from?
It was a time that execution by hanging became my concern so I decided to show this kind of death penalty from a child’s perspective with a childish outlook.
What did you wish to explore through the story of Ahmad?
I was fascinated by the character of Ahmad who keeps his promise and follows his responsibility regardless of his young age.
Did you have a cast in mind? How did you approach casting?
About a hundred volunteers auditioned for the leading roles and it was their very first experience in acting.
Have you got any plans for your next project that you could share with us?
I’m working on my feature film which in case of proper funding begins soon. This project will be a psychological melodrama.
What do you think the future holds for short films?
Short film is becoming an independent medium and making short films is no longer perceived as the primary steps for making feature films.
Sefid poosh [White Clad] is part of International Competition I5.
